Croatia situated on the Adriatic coast is a very diverse country and has become a very popular destination. It leaves nothing to be desired. Croatia is mostly intact with more than 1000 Croatian islands and is therefore home to a diverse wildlife. National parks protect the unaltered trails for those wanting to take adventurous walks.

Croatia can be reached by driving very comfortably and fast due to newly built highways. The tourists who pick to take planes there are seven airports in major cities.

Even in the low season it is worth visiting as temperatures in Croatia are also very summery and the prices are low at his time. Those who wish to slow down in the off-season should rent  private accommodation in Croatia is becoming increasingly popular. At a private lodging you can prepare your own dishes and can invite friends over as well or new acquaintances. Zagreb is the largest city of Croatia and is the industrial, manufacturing, and financial center of Croatia. It welcomes thousands of visitors with its many attractions such as Andautonia Archaeological Park with the remains of the ancient Roman town called Andautonia is situated just outside Zagreb near the village of Scitarjevo. Croatian History Museum is another notable place to visit and it introduces visitors to Croatia’s history. Sited in the historical town centre, it is the beautiful Baroque palace. Zagreb is the cultural center of Croatia, the National Theater in Zagreb is a significant place with dance performances of ballet, dramatic, opera and music.

Brijuni islands consist of a group of two larger and twelve smaller islands on the west coast of Istria. The national park stretches on an area of 36 km2. The park has a beautiful landscape along with a safari park and it is famous for its Mediterranean flora. It also has a valuable cultural inheritance dating back to the Roman and Byzantine area.

One of top cities of Croatia is Split and its most notable attractions is Diocletian’s Palace. The palace became the part of the World Heritage Site. Emperor Diocletian was Dalmatia’s most outstanding contributor to the Roman empire. After he retired near Split he decided to built this monumental fortified palace which he began to built in 295 and it lasted 10 years to finish the building.

Not far from Split lies the ancient city of Trogir. It is also a world heritage site with its a maze of cobblestone streets. Its rich culture was created under the influence of old Greeks, Romans, Venetians. The old town lies on an island between the mainland and the island of Ciovo which bridges connect to each other. The crooked streets hide numerous restaurants and cafes, shops and shuttered residences and outside the city walls is a waterfront promenade lined with yachts and dominated by a medieval fortress which was once connected to the city walls. The wider area of Trogir are characterized by lavish green areas, numerous islands and islets, rocky and pebble beaches.

Krka National Park is one of the Croatian national parks which is named after the river Krka. The city is located in Dalmatia just a few kilometers northeast of Šibenik. There are some places of interest inside the park: Skradinski Buk is one of the most attractive parts of the park with  various footpaths, sightseeing tours and boat trips. The second most popular attraction of the Krka National Park is Roški Slap. Its peaks and falls can be visited throughout the year. Franciscans founded the  Roman Catholic Visovac Monastery in 1445 which lies on the island of Visovac inside the park. The island itself can be visited by a boat tour from Skradinski Buk. The Krka monastery is the center of the Orthodox Dalmatian Eparchy and it is a spiritual center of the Orthodox Dalmatian Eparchy. The monastery was first mentioned in the year 1402 and was rebuilt until the late 1800s. There are also several archeological remains dating back to the Roman times such places as ÄŒuÄevo, NeÄven, BogoÄin, KljuÄica and Burnum.

The Plitvice Lakes National Park is in all probability Croatia’s most popular tourist attraction. It is embraced by three mountains which are part of the Dinaric Alps. Natural dams separate the lakes and all the 16 of them are renowned for their distinctive colours. The forests in the park are the habitat of bears, wolves and many rare bird species
